Microsoft start selling Windows Visa to new computers which replace Windows XP.This means that if you want to install Windows XP on new notebook you don’t have drivers for SATA disk. You should understand this when Windows setup says that can’t fine any hard drives.
First you need SATA drivers for you notebook.I’m installing windows on HP 520 equipped with Intel SATA.The Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager is designed to provide
functionality for the following Storage Controllers:
- Intel(R) 82801GR SATA RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 82801GR SATA AHCI Controller
- Intel(R) 82801GH SATA RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 82801GH SATA AHCI Controller
- Intel(R) 82801FR SATA RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller
- Intel(R) 82801FBM SATA AHCI Controller
- Intel(R) 82801ER SATA RAID Controller
- Intel(R) 6300ESB SATA RAID Controller
Download Intel SATA Drivers
Ok.Now you have drivers but you notebook don’t have floppy drive to point Windows setup load them. The solutions is simple. All you need is empty CD-R disk and nLite program.
Install nLite and run it.Insert Windows XP install disk and browse for empty directory on your hard disk where program should copy necessary files.

Press Drivers & Bootable ISO button.Click Next and select source disk of SATA drivers /Disk Drive A/.

There are 2 .inf file on floppy drive.

Click Next and after nLite finish boot ISO file and boot with Windows XP your netebook.
P.S. DO NOT FORGET TO DISABLE “SATA NATIVE MODE” FROM BIOS!!!
